JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government has confirmed the availability of essential goods ahead of the Christmas and New Year holiday season.
This assurance was delivered by the Head of the Economic Affairs and Development Administration Bureau of the Papua Provincial Secretariat, Andry, who stated that business owners, distributors, and retailers have prepared adequate supplies to meet community needs.
“The goods being stocked are not only for the Christmas and New Year period but also in anticipation of the upcoming Ramadan season, as the two holidays fall close to one another,” Andry said on Thursday (November 13).
He further noted that the availability of basic goods and agricultural commodities in Papua remains secure. According to Logistics Agency reports, rice stocks in warehouses are sufficient for the next two months.
To maintain price stability, the Papua Provincial Government will carry out low-cost market operations and conduct inspections at traditional markets as well as at the distributor level to ensure stable prices and adequate stock distribution.
“The Papua Provincial Government will continue to ensure price affordability, supply availability, and smooth distribution of goods,” he concluded. ***
