JAYAPURA – Papua Deputy Governor Aryoko Rumaropen stated that violence against women, children, and vulnerable groups is not only a violation of the law but also a violation of noble humanitarian values.
He conveyed this during the signing of a joint agreement on integrated services for women, children, and vulnerable groups who are victims of violence, held at the governor’s office on Tuesday (November 18).
According to Aryoko, any form of violence degrades human dignity and hampers national progress.
“In Papua, this issue remains a real challenge that affects quality of life and the Human Development Index (HDI).”
“Therefore, the government cannot work alone. Strong cross-sector collaboration is needed among local governments, private institutions, traditional leaders, religious leaders, and all elements of society,” Aryoko said.
He added that today’s signing of the joint agreement is concrete proof that the spirit of partnership in Papua continues to grow. It is a strategic step toward a new Papua that is fairer, safer, and more inclusive for everyone.
The Deputy Governor stated that through this cooperation, the government aims to ensure that every Papuan woman and child can live safely, receive protection services, and enjoy dignified justice and recovery.
“The Papua Provincial Government is committed to continuously strengthening the integrated service system so that it can respond more quickly, more effectively, and reach even the most remote areas,” he concluded. ***
