JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government has strengthened its bureaucratic consolidation through the inauguration of the Acting Regional Secretary and two High-Ranking Primary Officials, held at the Lukmen Hall in Jayapura on Thursday (20/11/2025). The ceremony, led by Papua Governor Matius D. Fakhiri, marks an initial step in structuring the government’s organizational framework at the start of his administration.
The officials inaugurated were Lukas Christian Sohilait as Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, Danny Korwa as Head of the Papua Inspectorate, and Ahmad Djalali as Head of the Papua Regional Library and Archives Office. The inauguration was carried out in accordance with regulations, supported by recommendations from the Head of the National Civil Service Agency and approval from the Minister of Home Affairs.
Governor Fakhiri stated that the inauguration was necessary to ensure stable government operations. According to him, a solid bureaucratic apparatus is the foundation for supporting Papua’s development agenda over the next five years.
He emphasized that the newly appointed officials are expected to uphold integrity, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and ensure effective administrative management. Strengthening financial governance and regional asset management is also part of the Governor’s directives, in line with Presidential Instruction No. 1 of 2025 on national spending efficiency.
The Governor stressed the importance of a results-oriented work culture, especially in the utilization of budgets that deliver real benefits to the public. He urged all regional government leaders to prioritize public service and ensure that every policy supports the welfare of the people of Papua.
In his remarks, Governor Fakhiri also underlined the regional government’s responsibility to maintain social harmony and promote a safe environment in Papua. He noted that the role of bureaucratic officials is crucial in maintaining stability while ensuring that government programs are implemented as planned.
The Governor reiterated that Papua’s development agenda requires leaders who are responsive and able to act swiftly. “I need leaders who can address challenges and provide real solutions for the public. In leading, I want to run, not stand still,” the Governor said.
At the same event, the Governor also issued assignment letters to several acting officials. They are Oktovianus Ferat Yawan, Anton Yoas Imbenai, Suzana Wanggai, Mathius Hartono Wally, Mufli Musa’ad, Emanuel Koray, and Jimmy, to ensure continuity of duties within their respective regional government units. ***
