JAYAPURA — In commemoration of National Press Day 2026, which falls on February 9, 2026, the Head of the Papua Provincial Communication and Informatics Office, Jeri Agus Yudianto, extended his congratulations and highest appreciation to all members of the press, especially those serving and working in the Land of Papua, particularly in Papua Province.
"In the midst of information flow disruption, the massive influence of digital algorithms, and the development of artificial intelligence (AI), the press must continue to stand firm as an honest, critical, and responsible balancing force. A healthy press is the foundation of strong public literacy, as well as a strategic partner of the government in ensuring that development information reaches all levels of society in a balanced and professional manner," Jeri stressed.
He added that the momentum of National Press Day 2026 should serve as an invitation to all members of the press to continue strengthening synergy with the Papua Provincial Government in delivering public and development information in an objective, transparent, and accountable way.
In line with the theme "A Healthy Press, a Sovereign Economy, a Strong Nation," it is hoped that, together with members of the press in Papua Province, they can realize the transformation of a Smart, Prosperous, and Harmonious Papua (Papua CERAH). ***
