BANTEN — Papua Governor Matius D. Fakhiri received the Golden Leader Award as part of the 6th anniversary celebration of the Indonesian Cyber Media Network (JMSI), as well as the commemoration of National Press Day 2026.
The award was presented in recognition of his exemplary leadership and contribution as a native Papuan who has devoted himself to the nation and the state, and for being an inspiration to the younger generation in Papua Province. The award was handed over directly by the Chairman of Indonesian Cyber Media Network, Dr. Teguh Santoso, and was officially received by the Head of the Papua Provincial Communication and Information Office, Jeri Agus Yudianto, on behalf of the Governor of Papua.
The award ceremony took place in Serang City, Banten Province, on Sunday (8/2/2026), and was attended by the Minister of Cooperatives, several Vice Ministers, governors, regents, national press figures, and media leaders.
Head of the Papua Provincial Communication and Informatics Office, Jeri Agus Yudianto, stressed that the award was a great honor and source of pride for the government and people of Papua.
"This award is an extraordinary form of appreciation. We would like to express our gratitude to JMSI for carrying out a professional curation process, starting from nominations by regional administrators to selection at the national level. The profile of the Governor of Papua reflects a journey of service that began from the bottom and reached the highest level of leadership, making him highly deserving to be a role model and motivation for Papua's young generation to continue creating and serving the nation and the state, especially their region," Jeri said.
Furthermore, Jeri expressed hope that Indonesian Cyber Media Network, as a platform for cyber media in Indonesia, would continue to maintain solidarity, professionalism, and press independence, so that it can remain a main pillar in educating the public and supporting national and regional development.
"May Indonesian Cyber Media Network continue to stay solid and strong in realizing a professional, ethical, and responsible press," he added.
During the award night, Indonesian Cyber Media Network also presented awards in various categories, not only to public figures and regional leaders, but also to outstanding media organizations and journalists from across Indonesia, as a form of appreciation for their dedication and contribution to the national press. ***
