JAYAPURA — The Papua Provincial Government is improving hospital services by promoting a service system that is more integrated and easier for the public to access. This step is aimed at speeding up patient treatment while also simplifying administrative procedures.
Papua Governor Matius D. Fakhiri said that the referral system between hospitals needs to be strengthened so that patient care can run more quickly and in a more coordinated manner.
According to him, government hospitals such as RSUD Abepura and RSUD Dok II must be connected in one referral system so that patient distribution can be carried out effectively.
In addition, the Papua Provincial Government is also encouraging the implementation of a one-stop service system in hospitals. Through this system, medical and administrative services will be integrated in one location.
"Treat the patient first, then we will take care of the rest. Inside it, there will be BPJS, Dukcapil, and the Social Affairs Office," Fakhiri said.
He explained that this system will make things easier for the public because they will no longer need to move from one place to another to handle health service administration.
As part of the service reform, the government is also preparing facility support for medical personnel and patients' families, including plans to build apartment-style housing in the hospital area.
The Governor also emphasized the importance of maintaining the safety and comfort of health workers while carrying out their duties.
"Medical personnel must feel safe. There should be no acts of violence from patients' families," he said.
The Papua Provincial Government hopes that this service system reform will improve the quality of healthcare services and provide greater certainty and convenience for the public. ***
