JAYAPURA — The Papua Provincial Government is encouraging the transformation of civil servant work culture through the implementation of a digital-based work system. One of the steps taken is the introduction of work from home (WFH) one day each week.
The policy has begun to be implemented every Friday and runs alongside the work from office (WFO) scheme within regional government agencies.
Head of the Papua Provincial Communication and Informatics Office, Jeri Yudianto, said that the implementation of WFH is part of efforts to improve work effectiveness while also accelerating the adoption of an electronic-based government system.
"WFH is carried out one day a week, namely every Friday," Jeri said.
According to him, the policy is also intended to strengthen digital services through the use of various platforms, such as e-office, electronic signatures, electronic attendance, and the personnel information system (SIMPEG).
"The strengthening of digital services is carried out through e-office, electronic signatures, electronic attendance, and SIMPEG," he said.
In addition, the implementation of WFH is expected to maintain operational efficiency and reduce employee mobility without disrupting services to the public.
Technical arrangements for the implementation of WFH and WFO are left to each regional apparatus organization, including the determination of work schedules and supervision of their implementation.
"The technical arrangements for WFH and WFO are left to each regional apparatus organization," he said.
The Papua Provincial Government hopes that this policy will encourage a more adaptive work pattern among civil servants while also improving the quality of digital-based public services. ***
