JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government is building collaboration with religious leaders to support the direction of regional development through the Papua Cerah vision. This synergy was discussed during a meeting with the Interfaith Harmony Forum and the Fellowship of Papuan Churches in Jayapura.
Papua Governor Matius D. Fakhiri said the support of religious leaders is an important part of implementing local government programs.
"Religious leaders have expressed their readiness to work together with the government in supporting development," he said.
He explained that the collaboration aims to maintain a balance between economic development and the community's social life.
According to him, development is not only about infrastructure but also about the values of togetherness and harmony.
"With the involvement of all parties, development can run more evenly and be better accepted by the community," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Papua Interfaith Harmony Forum, Lipiyus Biniluk, said his organization is ready to serve as a bridge between religious communities as well as a government partner.
"We are ready to become a communication bridge and support efforts to maintain harmony in Papua," he said. ***
